“Know thyself, and thou shall know all the mysteries of the gods and the universe”
Socrates

I walked into yoga class today and overheard a woman saying that she is a double Taurus and because of that did not like change. It made me laugh and then I started reflecting on all the ways we define ourselves. Whether it is an astrological sign, a career title, a diagnosis, an age, the list goes on and on – we learn to become these definitions and let them limit our possibilities in life. How fun it would be to walk in a room and have someone say “I was born in the likeness of the creator so I am capable of anything!” That
lead me to think about what we teach at the center.

We call it a self-healing style of meditation. In this form of meditation, you learn simple and powerful techniques that can help you turn within to yourself, the spirit. The techniques help you stimulate your psychic abilities, reduce stress, consciously create what you want, experience inner peace and have more fun! The goal isn’t to make you a psychic, but developing your inner sight is a natural result of getting in touch with your energetic anatomy. The only limits are in the mind and once you change the picture of what your mind says can happen then you are free to create what you want.

The classes we offer are all experiential. You can’t learn to ride a bike by reading about it. It might provide some helpful tips but it won’t keep you upright. You also can’t learn about your energy or that you are spirit from a book. Again the helpful tips part but you have to experience yourself as energy to truly understand it. If you are in massage school you learn about the muscles in the body by palpating them. In a spiritual school you learn about spirit by taking your attention within and exploring your energetic landscape. What freedom to realize that you can not only know yourself as an energetic being but also change your energy and thus your life! Life is meant to be a fun and exciting adventure that we can create on our own terms.

I often talk about those 3-D pictures. You look at the picture and it appears to be just color and wavy lines. As you continue to look and allow your focus to soften, a whole new picture comes into view. If you just believe what your eyes first see and stop looking, you will never see the world within the picture. The same is true for you. It’s easy to get caught up in this material life, but to find out who you really are and why you are here requires a journey within. And when you experience that incomparable peace that comes from meeting your true self, from then on you know that “nothing is worth exchanging for that attainment”.
