"Alice laughed: "There's no use trying," she said; "one can't believe impossible things."
"I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

I know when I don’t wake up feeling passionate about the day in front of me that it is time to adjust my energy. That was the case for me the last few days. I felt restless and dissatisfied. I woke up today and decided I had enough of that experience and that wonderful things were going to happen in my day. It’s early in the day as I write this but already the day feels different because I am choosing to greet the day differently. You see, it isn’t what happens outside of us but what happens inside of us that determines our day to day experiences. We often think that the right situation or a person can make us feel happy or sad – when really we can only do that for ourselves. If I choose to be happy, then the outer world reflects happiness back at me. If I choose to mope, then that same energy will follow me around. It’s always a choice. Neither choice is bad or good, just different experiences. Whatever choice you make, enjoy it! It’s all just a part of the adventure called life.

Someone at the Center recently mentioned feeling heavy and wondered how to change that. We all get stuck in a past picture or limiting thoughts sometimes. There are so many easy ways to shift energy. One simple way is to not think so much. The mind is a great tool but it’s also a troublemaker. Smile. Smiling changes your brain chemistry. It feels good. Even if you don’t feel like it, do it anyway. Soon the smile will reach inside of you. Another way to shift energy is with breath. Breathe as if a gentle wind is moving through you and clearing out whatever is making you feel bad. Be amused. Laugh at yourself. Step out of the box your mind says you are in. Believe in the “impossible” and before you know it, it shows up. Live life like the great adventure it is and know that something wonderful is going to happen to you today. You woke up, didn’t you?
